Maatsen, Gallagher, and Nkunku on target
Report by Chelsea FC website
Chelsea got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start with a 4-0 victory over Wrexham at the Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Wednesday night.
Ian Maatsen opened the scoring in the first half with a fine solo effort, before Conor Gallagher doubled the lead just before the break. Christopher Nkunku made it 3-0 early in the second half, and Ben Chilwell added a fourth late on to complete the scoring.
It was a good performance from Chelsea, who controlled the game from start to finish. The Blues created a number of chances and could have scored more goals, but they will be pleased with their clean sheet.
New signing Marc Cucurella made his debut for Chelsea, and he looked impressive at left-back. The Spaniard was involved in a number of Chelsea's attacks, and he also made a couple of important tackles.
Chelsea will now continue their pre-season campaign with a game against Arsenal in Orlando on Saturday.
